Painting workshops

by Janet Bonneau in Thoughts on Oil Painting

Just ended a wonderful 3 day plein air painting workshop with Andrew Orr. He’s a great painter and gifted teacher. My head is swimming with new techniques and ideas. This is the first time I’ve taken a workshop and now I’m hooked. Though I paint often with friends – the workshop experience is a bit different.

Here’s a shot of Andrew demonstrating to the class. The location is Jeffersonville, VT.

We painted every day from 8 am – 5 pm, same returning to the same morning location along the Lamoille River all three days. The afternoons were spend at a couple of different locations. Everyone held up pretty well considering the temperatures hit the mid-90’s by Thursday. Used up tons of sunscreen!

My painting in progress by the third day.
