I painted outside yesterday and it was only 7 degrees. I managed to stay warm but lost my light by noon when the sky got very gray with not a hint of good color.
Today is different – up here in northern Vermont we are in the middle of a beautiful snowstorm, the temperature has climbed to a nice 25 degrees. Since I didn’t want to travel on bad roads – I painted just a short distance from my house and did another painting of our woodshed. I don’t think I’m done with it but I needed to stop since the snow was gumming up my paints.

Here’s my palette with a bit of snow accumulating despite taking cover under the tailgate of my car AND attaching an umbrella to the easel.
